Looking Beyond Disabilities. Focusing on Capabilities. Expanding Possibilities

JESUS, OTHERS, YOU.
What We Do

Camp Joy Belize was founded in 2014, by Pastors Frankie and Abby Wade. Camp Joy Belize is a ministry of Living Waters Fellowship Church serving persons with special needs and disabilities. We believe that God created man in His own image and we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Genesis 1:27 & Psalms 139:14). We aim to provide a supportive, fun, inclusive environment with Christian values at the core. Looking Beyond Disabilities. Focusing on Capabilities. Expanding Possibilities.

Committed to Belize

Meeting Every Need

Camp Joy ministers through spreading the Joy and Love of Jesus Christ. The vision of Camp Joy Belize is: Building a firm Foundation, Expanding the Ministry & Stabilizing Camp Joy's Future. We need your help as we look to expand Camp Joy Belize.

Camp Joy Belize provides a unique camping experience for persons over 13 years old, with intellectual disabilities and special needs. It is a Christian co-ed camp geared towards engaging young people to live and work together in a fun environment. We have a one-to-one camper to counselor ratio, experienced staff, and are able to work with a wide variety of ages and abilities.

REACHING OUT IN OUR COMMUNITIES

What Camp Joy is Doing

Job Coaching
Empowering and Enabling

Job Coaching

Many individuals in Belize with significant disabilities are unable to secure employment or to maintain employment. Our program will allow individuals with special needs the opportunity to be employed under the mentoring of a job coach. The Job Coach assists the employee with a disability to learn their new job, and facilitate their inclusion into the work environment.

Empowering
Lending a Hand

Independent and Capable

Through donations from various people and organizations we were able to buy a push cart for the Bustamante boys. This will allow them to sell coconut water and other fruits. The Bustamante boys all have intellectual disabilities but have managed over the years, to become independent young men who provide for their home.

Fundraising
Fund Raising

Friend Raising

Throughout the year Camp Joy Belize hosts a number of fundraisers (BBQ Sale, Yard Sales, 5K Runs/ Walks, Bake Sales, Car Washes, etc) to help raise funds for our annual summer camp, the JOY Employability Program and other Camp Joy initiatives. Donations for yard sales and financial gifts are always welcome. Funds also go towards our annual summer camp.
